Se dieron a conocer los nominados a los Oscars en un evento transmitido desde el Teatro Samuel Goldwyn de Beverly Hills, presentado por Guillermo del Toro, Ang Lee, el actor y director John Krasinski, y la presidenta de la Academia, Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
En la categoría a Mejor Actor, la más competitiva de todas, están nominados grandes pesos pesados de Hollywood: Matt Damon (The Martian), Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs) y Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl) y Brian Cranston (Trumbo).
Como Mejor Actriz compiten: Cate Blanchett (Carol), la reciente ganadora del Golden Globe, Brie Larsson (Room), Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Charlotte Rampling (45 años) y Seorsie Ronan (Brooklyn).
Entre los directores sí hay una sorpresa y es que no incluyeron a Quentin Tarantino por su trabajo en The Hateful Eight. Los que sí van por la estatuilla son: Adam McKay (The Big Short), George Miller (Mad Max), Alejandro G. Iñárritu (The Revenant), Lenny Abrahamson (Room) y Thomas McCarthy (Spotlight).
Y por último, los eligidos a llevarse el gran premio como Mejor Película son: The Big Short de Adam McKay, Bridge of Spies de Steven Spielberg, Brooklyn de John Crowley, Mad Max de George Miller, The Martian de Ridley Scott, The Revenant de Alejandro González Iñárritu, Room de Lenny Abrahamson y Spotlight de Thomas McCarthy. Acá tampoco incluyeron el film de Tarantino.
Star War: The Force Awakens obtuvo 5 nominaciones y nos alcanza para ya imaginarnos a todo el cast de la película caminando por la red carpet. ¿Carrie Fisher volverá a llevar a su perrito estrella?
